Reports To: Mobile Club & Workforce Development Director

Status: Part-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt

Schedule: 25 hours per week (schedule will vary)

Pay: $22 per hour

Position Summary:

The Mobile Workforce Specialist combines mobile youth outreach with workforce development, career readiness, and hands-on technology programming. This position brings Boys & Girls Clubs of Kentuckiana programming directly to youth in schools, neighborhoods, community events, and other locations while providing engaging opportunities for teens to explore careers, develop employability skills, and gain experience with emerging technologies.

The Specialist will operate and support the Mobile Club while leading workforce and technology-based activities including 3D printing, digital fabrication, Cricut/XTool projects, T-shirt design, STEM activities, entrepreneurship, resume development, career exploration, and job readiness.

Essential Responsibilities:

Mobile Club & Youth Engagement

  • Operate and support the Mobile Club at schools, community events, neighborhoods, and partner locations.
  • Engage and recruit youth and teens through innovative, hands-on programming.
  • Build positive relationships with youth, families, schools, and community partners.
  • Assist with mobile equipment setup, transportation, organization, and maintenance.
  • Ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for participants.


Workforce Development

  • Develop and facilitate career exploration and workforce readiness programming for teens.
  • Assist youth with resumes, applications, interviewing, professional communication, and workplace skills.
  • Coordinate career speakers, job fairs, employer visits, job shadows, internships, and other career experiences.
  • Build relationships with employers, colleges, trade programs, and workforce partners.
  • Help youth identify career pathways, educational opportunities, and employment resources.


Technology, Leadership & Program Development

  • Lead hands-on projects involving 3D printing, CAD/design, Cricut, XTool, T-shirt production, digital fabrication, STEM, and other emerging technologies.
  • Teach youth safe and appropriate use of technology, tools, and equipment.
  • Develop creative projects that connect technology, entrepreneurship, and real-world careers.
  • Support Torch Club, Keystone, Teen Club, and other teen leadership programming as assigned.
  • Mentor youth and provide opportunities to develop leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, creativity, and communication skills.
  • Encourage youth to take projects from concept through completion.
  • Maintain accurate program participation, project, and outcome records.
  • Assist with grant reporting, program documentation, community events, staff training, and organizational initiatives.
  • Follow all Boys & Girls Clubs of Kentuckiana and Boys & Girls Clubs of America safety and youth protection policies.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
  • Experience working with youth and/or teens.
  • Experience or demonstrated interest in workforce development, technology, STEM, maker-space activities, or career readiness preferred.
  • Familiarity with 3D printing, Cricut, XTool, digital design, or similar technology is a plus.
  • Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to travel to various community locations and transport/set up program equipment.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
  • Must successfully complete required background checks and youth protection requirements.


Work Environment

This position works in a variety of settings, including Boys & Girls Clubs, schools, community locations, outdoor events, employer locations, and the Mobile Club. Some evening and weekend work may be required for special events and teen programming.
