Position Status: Three-quarter time, non-exempt salaried position

Reports To: Site Director

Salary Range: $32,000 - $37,000

Hours: Generally, Monday-Friday, 12:30-6:30 p.m. during the school year and 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. when the Club is open for the full day. Some evening or weekend hours may occasionally be required.

Key Responsibilities

The Assistant Site Director co-leads the program strategy of the site to deliver a high-quality afterschool and summer program. This position is responsible for program schedules and calendars, and onboarding and training new Vision Leaders. Reporting to the site director, this position serves as second in command at the site and assumes management of the site when the director is away.

Program Management

  • Provide leadership and supervision to assigned program and volunteer staff; control expenses as assigned
  • Ensure programs have necessary supplies
  • Become fluent in youth quality systems based on Weikart’s Program Quality Assessment (PQA) principles and assist in the program evaluation process

Leadership

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of daily, weekly, and monthly Club programs
  • Ensure overall daily Club program schedule is followed, including opening and closing procedures
  • Aid in Vision Leader onboarding and training
  • Ensure a healthy and safe environment, ensuring facilities and equipment are maintained
  • Fill in for Site Director when the Site Director is not present
  • Fill in as a driver or program Vision Leader as needed

Operations

  • Maintain familiarity with membership management system to aid in enrollment for Club programs and activities
  • Oversee input and tracking of program participation in Club’s membership management system
  • Foster strong communication between youth, families, and staff

Community Engagement & Outreach

  • Lead creative outreach and recruitment strategies to engage new members
  • Build and maintain meaningful partnerships with local organizations, schools, and businesses
  • Support the planning and execution of special events and community initiatives

Miscellaneous

  • Attend and participate in regular Club and Directors’ meetings
  • Participate in Club-wide events and activities
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
  • Experience working with youth in a leadership or programmatic role
  • Ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant experience in youth development, education, or a related field will be considered
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in youth development, leadership, or a related area
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check
  • Valid Kansas Driver’s License and insurable under BGCH’s policy
  • Availability for occasional evenings and weekends
  • Familiarity with youth development issues and behavior management techniques
  • Ability to recruit and empower teams of volunteers and Vision Leaders
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office and Google applications
  • First Aid/CPR certification

Pay: $32,000.00 - $37,000.00 per year
