TITLE: Club Experience Director (CED)

DEPARTMENT: Branch Operations

REPORTS TO: Branch Director

STATUS: Full time, exempt

POSITION SUMMARY:

With a focus on Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Collective Impact Agenda, Future Ready, the Club Experience Director (CED) will be a dynamic and dedicated youth development professional that focuses on helping to create and maintain the magic and mission that happens behind and beyond the Blue Doors.  The Director of Club Experience’s focus aligns directly with that of Future Ready:  driving greater impact through improved quality, a focus on four priority outcomes for youth, and expanding our reach through addressing unmet demand and through deeper engagement with current Club members.

The CED leads the design, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive programs that meet the academic, social, emotional, and physical needs of children and teens. This position champions the delivery of high-quality, engaging, trauma-informed youth and teen programming that aligns with the Formula for Impact, Blueprint for Youth Impact, and Youth Program Quality Intervention (YPQI). The CED plays a vital role in creating an inclusive, dynamic Club environment that supports equity, amplifies youth voice, and empowers young people to thrive in school, work, and life.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Program Leadership & Implementation

  • Design, implement, and evaluate inclusive and outcome-based youth programs based on the updated Formula for Impact in the four core areas: Health & Wellbeing, Life & Workforce Readiness, Character and Leadership, and Academic Success.
  • Collaborate with the other Club Experience Directors across the organization to ensure programmatic cohesion.
  • Utilize the Blueprint for Youth Impact and YPQI framework to ensure consistency, quality, and youth engagement.
  • Adopt national targeted programs in each core outcome area and ensure data collection supports continuous improvement and outcome measurement.
  • Complete monthly programming report and administer quarterly pre- and post-tests for organizational wide programming.
  • Ensure Club attendance and program participation data are tracked in a timely manner in MyClubHub.
  • Incorporate trauma-informed practices and ensure programming is inclusive, strengths-based, and aligned with youth development principles.
  • Collaborate with Operations leadership to ensure adequate staffing, supplies, paid planning time, and reliable data systems to support accountability and ongoing program enhancement.

Elevating the Teen & Tween Experience

  • Recognize that tween and teen members bring a unique energy and set of needs to the Club. Design programming that responds to their social, emotional, and developmental priorities, including:
  • Safe spaces for mental health conversations, self-care, and identity exploration.
  • Discussions and activities around social justice, equity, and inclusion.
  • Access to college planning, workforce readiness, jobs, internships, and leadership opportunities.
  • Dedicated time and space for homework help, recreation (sports & e-sports), and socializing.
  • Provide dedicated space, additional staff support, and/or branded experiences tailored specifically to tweens and teens to promote belonging and engagement.
  • Deliver foundational life and workforce readiness programming to all tween and teen members, ensuring they gain practical skills for their futures, with an understanding of their lives outside the Club, focusing on holistic achievements.

Community Engagement & Partnerships

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, community organizations, and feeder institutions to expand access to resources, referrals, and support that strengthen Club and community impact.
  • Serve as a visible ambassador of the Club’s mission and programming at community events and stakeholder meetings.
  • Recruit and/or retain current Club population through Club-wide events, cross-site initiatives, and seasonal programming.
  • Partner with parents/guardians to address youth engagement, development, and behavior.
  • Collaborate closely with Club leadership, site directors, staff, and volunteers to ensure mission alignment and consistent program execution.
  • Assist with promotional efforts via flyers, newsletters, social media, and community presentations.

Operational Oversight & Staff Development

  • Ensure member safety and incident prevention by maintaining appropriate supervision at all times; proactively prevent critical incidents through vigilance and staff coordination.
  • Provide documented examples of prevention strategies used at your Club.
  • Report all critical incidents to your supervisor immediately and complete an incident report as soon as possible, and no later than within four hours.
  • Manage program operations including registration, scheduling, budget oversight, safety protocols, and inventory with support from the branch/site director.
  • Supervise and develop staff and volunteers through ongoing training, orientation, and performance evaluation.
  • Hold weekly staff meetings with support of the Branch director to reinforce alignment with program quality standards and ensure cohesive team collaboration.
