Summary

As part of launching a new Pre-K program, you’ll have the opportunity to help shape the classroom environment and establish routines and traditions from the beginning. You’ll work closely with a supportive team while remaining focused on what matters most: teaching, connecting with children, and helping each child build a strong foundation for learning.

This role is ideal for an educator who enjoys being in the classroom, working directly with children, creating a positive, nurturing learning environment.

The Lead Pre-K teacher ensures the program meets all applicable state childcare regulations and reflects the Club's mission of enabling all young people to reach their full potential. This position requires a self-starter with deep knowledge of early childhood development and the operational drive to build something from the ground up.

  • Maintain an organized classroom and accurate child and classroom records.
  • Develop and manage the program budget in coordination with Club leadership.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with local school districts, childcare networks, and community organizations.
  • Track program outcomes and prepare reports for Club leadership and funders.
  • Follow all applicable health, safety, childcare, and licensing requirements.

Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, Child Development, Education, or a related field; Lead Teacher experience preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
  • Ability to pass criminal background screening and obtain required fingerprinting.
  • Ability to participate in behavior management and curriculum development.
  • Ability and willingness to mentor and support staff development.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and experience supervising staff or teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer-friendly approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with young people, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to remain calm, focused, and professional in high-stress or conflict situations.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Must maintain active personal automobile insurance with a minimum of liability insurance.
