Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Ohio, an Affiliate of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, empowers the young people who need us most to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens by providing high-quality and impactful out-of-school time programming for youth in grades K-12. BGCCO serves 4,000 youth per year throughout Central Ohio.

Position Summary

 

The School-Site Director is responsible for leading the daily operations of a designated school-based Boys & Girls Club site, including program implementation, youth engagement, school-day collaboration, staff supervision, outcome measurement, and community partnership development


This role serves as the primary liaison between the Club and the host school, ensuring alignment between school-day initiatives and after-school programming to support academic success, positive behavior, and whole-child development. The School-Site Director advances the mission of creating Great Futures for young people by ensuring high-quality, safe and engaging programming within the school setting.


Job Functions & Responsibilities

 

Responsible for ensuring the Club site operates at maximum capacity while consistently meeting daily attendance and participation goals. Supports the delivery of individualized academic, social, emotional, and behavioral services through strong collaboration with school personnel, caregivers, and community partners. Works to improve student outcomes by promoting grade progression, supporting high school graduation and post-secondary readiness, and aligning school-day interventions with afterschool programming to create a seamless and consistent support system for youth.


Serves as the primary liaison between the Club and school administration, teachers, counselors, and student support teams, maintaining strong partnerships that enhance student success. Actively participates in school-based initiatives, including Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) teams, to identify barriers to student achievement and coordinate appropriate interventions. Utilizes school and Club data to monitor student performance, attendance, behavior, and social-emotional well-being, ensuring students receive targeted support and resources throughout the school day and after school hours.


Demonstrates exceptional customer service and maintains positive relationships with Club members, families, school staff, community stakeholders, and visitors. Represents the organization with the highest level of professionalism, integrity, enthusiasm, and respect while fostering a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment. Maintains strict confidentiality and exercises sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive information and interacting with internal and external stakeholders.


Required Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in education, youth development, social services, or related fields
  • Minimum of three years of experience in youth development or school-based programming.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of budget preparation and management
  • Labor hour management and time keeping
  • Valid Ohio Driver's License
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Administrative duties


Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Bachelor's Degree


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 20lbs
  • Stand, sit, walk, kneeling, crouching, bending
  • Exposure to outdoor activities


Additional Responsibilities

  • Ensure completion of required CACFP and SFSP training and certifications for self and/or designated staff, as applicable.
  • May serve as an assigned driver for Club activities in accordance with organizational policies, when required.
  • Participate in club tours, special events, and other activities as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned that support safe and effective Club operations.
