Position Overview:
Under the supervision of the Athletics Coordinator, Summer Coaches will oversee club-specific sports programming for youth participating in the daily summer pass program. This role focuses on creating a fun, safe, and engaging environment while helping young participants build athletic skills, confidence, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and facilitate sports programs for youth members throughout the summer session
- Implement a structured physical education program that prepares youth for skill development and success
- Ensure a safe and healthy environment by maintaining facilities, equipment, and supplies
- Provide inclusive opportunities for all participants through sports sampling activities
- Organize and lead a variety of sports programs and recreational activities for all age groups
- Promote and encourage active participation in all programming
- Coach and develop youth teams for inter-club league play across multiple age groups
Qualifications:
- Experience in sports education or youth athletics programming preferred
- At least 1 year of hands-on coaching experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Basic knowledge of basketball, baseball, and general gym activities
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to engage and motivate youth in a positive manner
