Through high-quality programs and caring adult mentorship, we create opportunities for kids and teens to grow into confident, capable, and community-minded individuals.Serving hundreds of youth daily across multiple sites, we provide a safe, inclusive, and enriching environment where children ages 5–18 can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.Position SummaryReporting to the Deputy Director, the Part-Time Unit Director at Plumley Village is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and program delivery of the Clubhouse. You’ll have the opportunity to make a lasting impact in your community, develop your leadership skills, and work in a supportive, mission-driven environment that values collaboration and creativity.Requirements:Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Program ManagementPlan, implement, and evaluate outcome-driven programs and activities that align with the Boys & Girls Club mission and Youth Development Outcomes.Ensure a healthy, safe, and inclusive environment for all members and staff.Supervise and support part-time staff and volunteers, conducting daily check-ins and providing coaching as needed.Foster an engaging Club culture that emphasizes respect, inclusion, and positive behavior.Support theme programming, youth-led activities, and BGCA-endorsed initiatives.Strategic & Operational PlanningAssist in developing and maintaining schedules, program calendars, and activity plans that meet the needs and interests of Club members.Track attendance, participation, and program outcomes; prepare regular reports as requested.Maintain accurate member and staff records, ensuring compliance with organizational and EEC/DPH safety standards.Community & Partnership EngagementBuild and sustain positive relationships with parents, schools, community partners, and local organizations.Represent the Club at community events and assist in promoting Club visibility through outreach and tours.Coordinate and support family engagement events, such as parent nights or open houses.Resource & Facility ManagementHelp develop and monitor program budgets, ensuring proper use of resources.Purchase and maintain supplies and equipment for programming needs.Conduct safety checks and ensure facilities and materials meet health and safety standards.Administrative & Support DutiesAssist with data entry, attendance tracking, and membership administration.Support staff and development team on special events and projects.Uphold Boys & Girls Club policies and serve as a role model of professionalism, integrity, and positive leadership.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsEducation:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university OR equivalent experience.Experience:Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in youth development, education, or nonprofit program management (Boys & Girls Club experience preferred).Experience supervising staff, leading programs, and engaging with youth of diverse backgrounds.EEC qualification preferred or ability to become qualified within 6 months of hire.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal).Demonstrated leadership and team management ability.Skilled in planning, organizing, and implementing youth programs.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable using databases for attendance and reporting.Ability to manage multiple projects, maintain confidentiality, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with parents, community members, and partners.Must exhibit sound judgment, maturity, and professionalism when working with youth and families.Work Environment & Physical RequirementsInteractions with youth ages 5–18 in an active, energetic, and sometimes noisy environment.Includes moderate physical activity such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.Must be able to work afternoons and early evenings, with occasional special events.
