Are you passionate about early childhood education and helping young children learn through play, exploration, and meaningful relationships? We are seeking a dedicated, nurturing, and enthusiastic Part-Time Teacher Float to join our team and support classrooms throughout our early childhood program.

Position

The Part-Time Teacher Float plays an essential role in maintaining a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. This position provides support across multiple classrooms as needed, assisting lead teachers, ensuring continuity of care, and helping children thrive socially, emotionally, physically, and academically. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children of various ages, is flexible, dependable, and committed to fostering positive learning experiences.

Responsibilities:

• Provide support to classroom teachers by assisting with daily activities, lessons, and supervision of children
• Step into classrooms as needed to ensure appropriate staffing and continuity of care
• Create and maintain a safe, welcoming, and organized learning environment
• Engage children in developmentally appropriate activities that promote learning through play
• Foster children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
• Assist with classroom transitions, meal times, outdoor play, rest periods, and special activities
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow staff members
• Collaborate with teachers to support program goals and classroom needs
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events as assigned
• Follow all licensing regulations and BGCA Tri-County and PJW policies and procedures

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Introduction to Child Care Profession course preferred
• Skills and Strategies for the Child Care Teacher course preferred
• Fundamentals of the Infant and Toddler course preferred
• Fundamentals of Family Child Care course preferred
• Principles of Child Care Certification course preferred

Skills:

• Previous experience working with young children in a childcare, preschool, or educational setting preferred
• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for early childhood education
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt quickly and work effectively in multiple classroom environments
• Dependable, flexible, and well-organized
• Positive attitude with a willingness to support the needs of the program
• Creative, energetic, patient, and nurturing
• Strong moral character and professionalism
• Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification

Schedule: Part-Time Day Shift - Monday through Friday
Work Location: In person
