About the Role
The Boys & Girls Club of the Bellport Area is seeking reliable, energetic, and flexible Youth Development Professionals (Sub Pool / Per Diem) to provide substitute coverage across our programs serving youth ages 5–19.
This role is critical to ensuring that our programs continue to run safely and effectively when staff are absent. You will work across Academics, Arts, Athletics, and enrichment programming, supporting a dynamic and engaging environment for our members.
Schedule
This is a per diem / on-call position based on program needs:
- School Days:
- Morning: 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM
- Afternoon: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- School Closures / Full Days:
- 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Provide substitute coverage across multiple program areas (academics, arts, athletics)
- Supervise and engage youth in structured, age-appropriate activities
- Support homework help, creative arts, and recreational programming
- Maintain active supervision and ensure safety at all times
- Assist with attendance tracking and program documentation
- Build positive relationships with youth and staff
- Maintain clean, organized, and welcoming program spaces
- Follow all organizational policies related to safety, behavior, and reporting
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Experience working with youth preferred (afterschool, camp, education, recreation, etc.)
- Strong communication and group management skills
- Flexible, dependable, and able to adapt to different program settings
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
