Primary Function:
The Director of Special Events & Marketing provides leadership in advancing the Club’s fundraising, marketing, and community engagement efforts. This position plans and executes special events that meet revenue and program goals while overseeing the organization’s marketing and communications, including social media, website content, and newsletters.
The Director also oversees the Club’s CRM system, ensuring accurate donor and sponsor tracking, reporting, and data integrity to support fundraising and relationship management. This role collaborates closely with the Board of Directors, Chief Executive Officer, Director of Operations, and Director of Development to increase visibility, strengthen partnerships, and drive financial support.
Key Roles (Essential Job Responsibilities):
Strategic Event & Revenue Management
- Lead the planning, management, and evaluation of fundraising and community events to meet established revenue and engagement goals.
- Develop and monitor event budgets; ensure accurate expense tracking and timely reconciliation.
- Identify, cultivate, and steward corporate sponsors and community partners to increase event revenue and community support.
- Evaluate event performance using revenue, attendance, donor engagement, and visibility metrics; provide recommendations for improvement.
Marketing & Communications Leadership
- Oversee and implement the Club’s marketing and communications strategy to increase visibility and engagement.
- Manage social media platforms, website content, digital campaigns, and newsletters to ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment.
- Draft and distribute promotional materials, sponsorship communications, press releases, and community outreach content.
- Maintain brand standards across all external communications.
CRM & Development Operations
- Oversee administration of the Club’s CRM system, ensuring accurate donor and sponsor data management, segmentation, and reporting.
- Generate reports to support fundraising strategy, board reporting, and revenue forecasting.
- Ensure timely donor acknowledgments and stewardship communications in coordination with leadership and finance staff.
Collaboration & Organizational Support
- Collaborate with the Board of Directors, Chief Executive Officer, Director of Operations, and Director of Development to align events, marketing, and fundraising initiatives with organizational goals.
- Maintain productive relationships with vendors, sponsors, media contacts, and community stakeholders.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills/Knowledge Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, nonprofit management, business, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum two years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising events, marketing, or related field.
- Experience managing CRM or donor database systems, including reporting and data integrity oversight.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and manage budgets and analyze fundraising performance metrics.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience creating marketing and promotional materials.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital communication platforms.
