Primary Function
The Front Desk Specialist (FDS) is responsible for managing member services at the front desk and reception area of the Clubhouse. This position ensures high quality customer service as a welcoming first point of contact while ensuring accurate documentation of registrations and attendance; clear communication with parents/guardians, members, and staff; and the safety of all members. The FDS supports and promotes the mission of the Boys & Girls Club of Placer County (BGCPC): to inspire and enable all young people to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.

REPORTS TO: SITE DIRECTOR / DIRECTOR OF PROGRAMS
JOB CLASSIFICATION: PART-TIME, TEMPORARY (based on School & Summer terms), HOURLY, NON-EXEMPT
15 – 29 hours/week, Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities
· Oversee the operation of the front desk and reception area of the Clubhouse.
· Provide excellent customer service by greeting, listening to, and assisting parents/guardians, members, staff, visitors, and community partners.
· Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming environment that fosters safety and belonging for all members of the Club community.
· Monitor and secure the main entrance, tracking the movement of all individuals entering and exiting the Club.
· Prepare daily rosters and accurately track daily program attendance
· Maintain membership records, registration data, and ongoing parent/guardian and member information.
· Answer and route incoming calls, take messages, and consistently manage and deliver a high volume and wide variety of information to/from staff, parents/guardians, and members, as needed and appropriate.
· Share and post timely information with members, parents/guardians, staff, and the public regarding activities, events, and Club updates.
· Build positive relationships with members, parents/guardians, and staff to support behavior management, health needs, and member recognition.
· Help facilitate the overall success of the Club by supporting staff with the implementation of daily Club programming and activities.
· Follow and models all BGCPC policies, procedures, and employee handbook requirements, as well as applicable federal, state, and local laws.

Requirements
· Ability to pass a background check upon hire and annual reauthorization.
· Negative TB test clearance.
· Completion of AUSD Proficiency Test (unless waived with proof of 48 college units).
· Current CPR and First Aid certification (training provided annually by the Club).
· Verification of work eligibility (I-9 documentation).
· Proficiency in computer applications, recordkeeping, and verbal/written communication.
· Positive, helpful, open-minded, and non-judgmental attitude when engaging with members, parents/guardians, visitors, and staff.
· Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; able multi-task and to manage interruptions effectively.
· Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding staff and member information.
· Confidence in asking questions, exercising sound judgment, and making quick decisions.
· Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
· Adherence to Club dress code or staff uniform at all times.
· Agreement to comply with all BGCPC onboarding requirements, policies, and procedures.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
· Regularly required to reach with hands and arms, use hands to handle or feel, and communicate clearly.
· Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, stoop, or kneel.
· Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
· Vision requirements include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
