What are the responsibilities and job description for the Art Coordinator position at Boys & Girls Club of Greater Haverhill?
Position Summary: The position of Art Coordinator is responsible for creating, planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating daily art activities and weekly programs. In addition, the position also provides supervision and promotes engagement of members and ensures a safe and supportive environment for by promoting positive relationships.
Primary duties for the Art Coordinator:
- Have Daily activities planned for varying age groups Mon - Fri
- Research and Identify supplies needed for planned art activities, and submit for approval in a timely manner
- Participate in, plan, and organize student submission for BGCA art contests.
- Put on 2 Art Shows during the year to showcase the students' work
- Art Room is decorated with art from the members monthly, reflecting the monthly theme and or season
- Members are rewarded through positive recognition including Art Member of the Month
- Supervise and participate alongside members during program times while instructing members with enthusiasm and creativity.
- Ensure and maintain the mental, physical and emotional safety, health and welfare of members.
- Coordinate interactive learning experiences for children.
- Relate to the children with respect and understanding and realize you are an adult role model for them.
- Adhere to and uphold all Club rules and policies.
- Display BGC values by being the best role model around!
- Attend all general and site staff meetings and training sessions and give input.
- Participate in collaborative programs and events with other staff community organizations as appropriate.
- Secure and maintain materials, equipment and other resources belonging to the program area(s), reporting any problems with the equipment/supplies to the respective Program Director.
- Maintain a safe and clean program area(s).
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in a childcare or camp setting
- Classroom management skills and experience in teaching or tutoring
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
