What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Development Professional (Seasonal) position at Boys & Girls Club of Elizabethton/Carter County?
MISSON STATEMENT:

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
Prepare youth for success
- Create a safe, positive environment that facilitates the achievement of youth provides them with unique opportunities and experiences.
- Be the one for youth: Build supportive relationships with youth of all ages (5-17) by providing guidance and being a role model.
- Effectively implement and administer targeted programs, services, and activities to ensure safe opportunties for youth to learn and grow.
- Plan and facilitate fun activties for the youth who need us most. Use your interests and hobbies to provide youth with programs related to sports, recreation, arts and crafts, STEM, and lifeskills.
- Opportunties for Professional Development: Gain experience in Early Childhood Development and Social Emotional Learning. Recieve paid training and certficiations in trauma informed care.

- Recieve supervision and support from Club Director and Leadership staff
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- May participate in special programs and/or events
- Represent the Boys & Girls Club values within the community
- Communicate internally, with Club members and staff, and externally, family and community
- Maintain a clean and safe facility
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma
- Experience working with children
- Knowledge of youth development
- Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems
- Ability to deal with general public
- Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth
- Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment
- Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications (will be provided by the Club)
- Valid State Driver’s License
*Not required, but if you have a valid Tennessee CDL or want to obtain one, it will lead to higher pay.
REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to participate in games and activities with members
- Ability to pass a drug screening
- Required background check

Pay: $10.00 - $11.00 per hour
