The Boys and Girls Club of East Providence is looking for certified lifeguards for our summer programs. Candidates must have current Lifeguard, CPR and FIrst Aid certificate. Preference to American Red Cross certification however other certifying agencies will be considered however all certifications must have an in person component to the training
We have two pools, one is an outdoor pool at our day camp in Bristol. Hours for this location are Monday-Friday 8:30-4:30 and camp runs from June 22- August 28.
The second pool is an indoor pool located at our Williams Ave Clubhouse. Hours vary for this position however we are looking for availability Monday-Friday 10AM-4PM from June 22-August 28
Hourly wage: $17.00-$20.00 based on experience
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following.
· Responsible for the health and safety of all individuals in the pool
o Ensure all swimmers are aware of safety expectations at the pool.
o Perform rescue/first aid when necessary.
o Document and report accidents, injuries and disciplinary incidents to supervisor(s).
· Responsible for checking and logging pool chemistry in accordance with RI Dept of Health guidelines.
· Responsible for working with supervisor to maintain pool chemistry in accordance with RI Dept of Health guidelines.
· Responsible for keeping pool deck and changing rooms clean and free from safety hazards
· Maintain communication with supervisors and program staff regarding safety concerns related to the pool and surrounding areas
· Other duties assigned that do not interfere with lifeguard’s primary duty of performing surveillance while swimmers are in the pool.
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
