About the Role

Boys & Girls Aid is seeking a Therapeutic Care Coordinator for its Nest program. In this role, you will provide case management and therapeutic support to youth ages 4-11 in foster care. We are looking for a compassionate professional with experience supporting children involved in the Child Welfare System who have experienced significant trauma. The Therapeutic Care Coordinator partners with youth, foster families, and service providers to build skills, strengthen relationships, promote stability, and support permanency outcomes. Success in this role requires strong collaboration and communication skills, flexibility, consistency, and knowledge of trauma-informed care, crisis management, Collaborative Problem Solving, and Attachment Theory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assesses youth needs and coordinates services, including transportation to appointments, court hearings, and medical or mental health services. Collaborates with partner agencies, families, foster parents, and other providers to ensure youth receive coordinated, consistent support.
  • Maintains professional, positive, and collaborative relationships with youth, families, foster parents, Agency staff, ODHS Case Workers, service providers, and community stakeholders to coordinate services, support youth and families, and promote positive outcomes.
  • Works in a collaborative team environment with Agency staff, ODHS Case Workers, foster parents, and other team members to coordinate services and support youth and families.
  • Uses a trauma-informed lens, Collaborative Problem Solving, Attachment Theory, and crisis management models to provide coaching and guidance to foster parents and team members on effective interventions, skill-building strategies, and supporting youth with complex behavioral and emotional needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or related field with two (2) years of related experience, OR Master's Degree in a related field with one (1) year of related experience.
  • Must have some experience in clinical assessment of young children, training/curricula development, and training others. Must have general knowledge of systems of care for youth and families including child welfare, DHS, mental health, and substance abuse and treatment.
  • Must maintain First Aid and CPR certifications.
  • Valid driver's license from state of residence (Oregon or Washington), verification of personal automobile liability insurance, passing DMV driving record check and passing background check.
