Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a House Parent at Boys Farm, Inc., based in Newberry, South Carolina. The House Parent will be responsible for providing day-to-day care, emotional support, and guidance to the boys within their assigned home. Key responsibilities include fostering a structured environment, promoting positive behaviors, managing household tasks, and maintaining a nurturing atmosphere. The House Parent will also collaborate with the wider Boys Farm community to support the educational, physical, and spiritual growth of each child.
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build positive and meaningful relationships with children and staff
- Ability to create and maintain a structured and supportive home environment
- Experience in mentorship, guidance, and conflict resolution
- Basic organizational skills, including time management and household management
- Compassion, patience, and a commitment to the personal growth of children
- Understanding of child development and trauma-informed care is a plus
- Willingness to participate in a faith-based community
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet transportation requirements
