Position Summary
The Facilities Assistant position is a part-time, non-exempt position scheduled for 30 hours per week and reports to the Director of Operations. This position provides general facilities and operational support to the Operations Department. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Roles and Responsibilities
Facilities Assistance
1. Assist with maintaining the overall appearance, cleanliness, and upkeep of Boys & Girls Country properties.
2. Support the Operations and Maintenance teams with general facility maintenance needs across campus.
3. Monitor maintenance supplies and parts inventory and notify the Maintenance Manager when items need to be ordered or replenished.
4. Pick up parts, supplies, materials, or other operational items as needed.
5. Assist with facility requests in a timely, cost-conscious manner while maintaining quality standards and being a good steward of Boys & Girls Country resources.
6. Help ensure roofs remain clear of debris and report any visible facility or maintenance concerns.
7. Assist with keeping gutters clean, functional, and free of blockage.
8. Maintain hedges, playground areas, flowerbeds, and other assigned outdoor spaces on campus.
9. Help ensure the exterior areas of buildings are clean, safe, and maintained in good repair.
10. Assist with keeping the Operations Center clean, organized, and in good working order.
11. Help maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies in good working condition; perform minor equipment care or repairs when appropriate and assigned.
12. Assist with tree trimming, grounds upkeep, and removal of debris as needed or assigned.
13. Work collaboratively with the Director of Operations, Maintenance Manager, and other staff to support the safe, clean, and well-maintained condition of Boys & Girls Country facilities.
14. Assist the Operations Team with timely pickup, transport, and handling of donated goods or supplies.
15. Support team members and departments in carrying out organizational goals, campus projects, and mission-related activities.
16. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations or Maintenance Manager.
Qualifications
· Must successfully complete and clear all required criminal background checks, including an FBI fingerprint investigation.
· Must successfully complete and clear the required drug screening.
· Must attend and successfully complete Boys & Girls Country orientation and required pre-service training.
· Must be self-motivated, dependable, and willing to learn and perform new tasks.
· Must be able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds.
· Must be a high school graduate or vocational school graduate.
· Must work cooperatively as part of a team.
· Must demonstrate a positive attitude and consistently support the mission, values, and standards of Boys & Girls Country.
