Opportunity Overview: Annual Giving Manager
The Annual Giving Manager leads the strategy, execution, and growth of BGCKC’s annual giving program, generating sustainable, unrestricted revenue from individual donors. This role oversees multi-channel fundraising campaigns, donor segmentation, and stewardship strategies to deepen engagement and increase retention, with a strong focus on equity-centered and donor-informed practices.
The Annual Giving Manager plays a pivotal role in converting first-time supporters into loyal donors, strengthening second gift and increased gift momentum, and building a robust pipeline that leads to future major giving.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
Annual Giving Strategy & Revenue Growth

Design and execute a comprehensive annual giving strategy to grow revenue across all segments (monthly, mid-level, broad-based donors)

Manage a portfolio goal contributing significantly to the organization’s $10M annual contributed revenue target

Lead calendar planning for integrated campaigns including year-end, giving days, and seasonal appeals

Service workplace giving programs, including coordination of the annual Microsoft GIVE campaign.

Analytical, data-driven growth mindset with an ability to adapt to trends and shifts in the sector

Partner with leadership to align annual giving with broader fundraising and organizational priorities
Campaign Management (Multi-Channel)

Oversee development and execution of integrated campaigns across:

Email marketing

Direct mail
-
Digital fundraising (web, social, peer-to-peer)

SMS and emerging platforms
-
Collaborate with marketing/communications to ensure compelling, consistent storytelling and branding
-
Optimize campaigns using data, testing, and performance analytics
Donor Segmentation & Stewardship

Develop targeted engagement strategies for key donor segments:

First-time donors
-
Monthly/recurring donors
-
Mid-level donors ($500–$5,000)

Lapsed donors
-
Create and implement stewardship journeys that increase retention, upgrade rates, and lifetime value
-
Ensure timely, meaningful donor acknowledgment and impact reporting
Pipeline Development

Works with the major gifts team to identify donors for movement into mid-level and major gift portfolios
-
Partners with Major Gifts team to support two-way donor transitions and handoffs
-
Build systems that feed the donor pool, create new donors, and secure the second gift
Data, Reporting & Optimization

Track and analyze KPIs including retention rate, donor acquisition cost, average gift, and ROI by channel
-
Pulls mailing lists, runs reports, updates donor records, and maintains accurate donor data in the CRM

Develop dashboards and reporting tools to inform decision-making

Continuously test and refine strategies to improve performance
Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with:

Marketing & Communications on messaging and content

Data/Operations on segmentation and reporting

Programs to surface impact stories

Contribute to a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation within the Development department
QUALIFICATIONS: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Required
-
3–5 years of nonprofit fundraising experience, with a focus on annual giving or individual giving programs

Demonstrated success managing multi-channel fundraising campaigns

Experience using donor databases/CRM systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge NXT or similar)
-
Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into strategy

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience managing recurring giving programs and digital fundraising channels

Familiarity with segmentation strategies and donor lifecycle marketing

Experience working in youth development, education, or human services organizations

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Physical Requirements: Long periods of being in a stationary position; operating a computer and other office equipment; frequently moving to/from various work areas; frequently communicating by phone and email; frequently remaining in a stationary position during meetings, discerning meeting content, and exchanging accurate information; frequently moving to/from off-site meeting and/or event locations; occasionally moves supplies and/or equipment weighing up to 20 pounds.
Working Conditions: Primary location in typical business office environment, with frequent meetings and event attendance at a variety of off-site locations.
