Position Overview
The School-Aged Education Coordinator is responsible for ensuring appropriate and effective academic programs are developed, implemented, and evaluated for members ages 6 to 12. The individual in this role is responsible for serving and advocating for club members in this age group by providing high-yield and targeted support in the areas of homework help, core content programming and developmentally appropriate literacy and STEM programming. Additional responsibilities include the oversight of program staff and program budget.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES And RESPONSIBILITIES
Programming, Collaboration & Partnership Development
- Responsible for all aspects of the school-aged education program including, but not limited to, program planning and implementation, supervising school age education staff, maintaining program budget, implementing Agency policies and practices and securing additional program resources when appropriate.
- Develop, implement, and document year-round education programs, activities, and events that adhere to the Common Core State Standards, 21 Century Skills, and BGCB Education practices.
- Develop, implement, and participate in collaborative programs and events with BGCB education staff and program partners (as appropriate).
- Act as liaison for curating relationships with program partners and volunteers.
- Actively participate in BGCB Formula for Impact: Academic Success Initiatives.
- Maintain knowledge or trends in education – specific programming, career exploration, professional development, and curriculum design
- Monitor and coordinate an academic incentive and recognition program for the school-aged education department
- Supervise and discipline club members participating in programs and services within the program area as well as throughout the clubhouse (as appropriate).
- Monitor and support members who are involved in targeted programs who are at risk of failing a grade or dropping out of school
- Maintain a safe, clean, effective, and academically enriching environment.
- Orient, train and supervise education department staff, including work-study students, junior staff, and volunteers.
- Provide annual performance evaluations for applicable staff in a timely manner.
- Participate in on – going professional development (trainings, education team meetings, 1 to 1 coaching sessions, observations, and supervision).
- Maintain a high level of professional communication both internally and externally

- Other related duties (as assigned).

Required
- Bachelor’s degree with minimum 1-2 years direct experience developing and delivering programs for youth and minimum 1-2 years supervisory experience
- Knowledge of trends in school-aged education-specific programming and activities, professional development opportunities, curriculum design and related resources.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office and web competency
- Ability to work with youth and families from a variety of backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid Massachusetts driver’s license
- Flexibility to work clubhouse hours especially as seasons and service needs change
- Experience in out-of-school time settings
- 3-5 years direct experience and 2-4 years of supervisory experience
