Hours: 5 days/week Monday - Friday; 4:00 PM- 6:00 PM (summer hours vary.)

Leading the Change in Youth Development
At Boys & Girls Clubs of the Lowcountry we are a leader in youth development, providing a safe, affordable place for kids and teens during critical out-of-school time (after school and summer). Our Clubs offer life-changing programs and services to approximately 2,569 local youth within the Beaufort and Jasper County.

Primary Summary:
The Site Director plans, coordinates, directs and manages overall daily operations of a Club site under the supervision of the Director of Community and Program Engagement, with the primary concern for a comprehensive, outcome-driven program and service delivery, supervision, and training of staff (staff schedules, direct and indirect reports), personnel issues, management of a facility (club safety, cleanliness and maintenance), staff and member safety, actively engage and support community relations, volunteers, and membership administration.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Club Leadership
- Ability to interpret data and collect data
- Communicates, implements, and enforces the organization’s Operational and Human Resources and procedures; monitors same for compliance.
- Identifies and implements actions needed to optimize Club use by kids who need us most and at-risk community and to achieve and maintain optimal daily attendance levels.
- Plans and coordinates effective use of community and volunteer support.
- Handles crisis situations and takes action to resolve conflicts, disputes and/or concerns of staff, club members, volunteers, and/or parents.
Club Supervision & Staff Development
- Collaborates with management regarding staffing levels and hours to best support effective Club operations and program delivery.
- Orients, trains, guides, and develops staff
- Develops performance objectives for staff (including Enrichment Teachers, if applicable), monitors performance, provides on-going and periodic feedback on performance and recognizes their accomplishments.
- Takes approved disciplinary action for rules violations and/or failure to perform.
- Develops agenda and conducts regular staff meetings
- Utilizes interns and volunteers to support club initiatives
Club Programs & Services
- Plans, oversees and ensures designated programs are delivered with quality, and support identified Youth Development Outcomes.
- Establishes and maintains program goals and setting that insure the health and safety of members.
- Ensures that staff understands and communicates program areas are safe, well ventilated, well lit and that club equipment is maintained in good working condition.
- Encourage members to participate in a variety of program activities and receive instruction and constructive feedback to develop skills in program area.
- Monitors program delivery and collaborates with staff and pillar leadership to plan and implements improvements.
- Evaluates programs continually so they respond to member needs
- Ensures club’s special events and field trips are properly planned and supervised in accordance with the BGCLC Standard Operating Procedures
Payroll
- Maintain payroll and deposits
- Manage staff schedules and conduct hourly corrections and approvals
- Adhere to all deadlines
Marketing and Public Relations
- Collaborate with immediate supervisor to increase visibility of Club programs
Club Facility and Property
- Assesses risk and implements policies to minimize loss and exposure to loss.
- Enforces policies, procedures and standards regarding upkeep, usage, and maintenance of club areas, vehicles, and equipment and ensures club program areas are safe, attractive, and well-maintained.
Administrative
- Performs administrative responsibilities, including registration, orientation, and maintaining information required for reports and records.
- Plans and implements outcomes measurement and other surveys. Prepares accurate, timely club monthly and other reports, and plans and takes actions required to satisfy grant reporting requirements.
- Prepares and presents reports that communicate club’s progress towards goals for use with school and BGCLC management.
- Maintains and secures confidential club member files and records.
QUALIFICATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES PREFERRED:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of two years work experience in a Boys and Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people, or equivalent experience.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to recruit, train, supervise, and motivate staff.
- Ability to deal effectively with members including discipline problems.
- Ability in working with young people, parents and community leaders.
- Able to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Required proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications: Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as other software, and web competency required.
- Group leadership skills with an understanding of group dynamics and classroom management is required.
- Management and supervisory experience.
- Must have a valid state driver’s license and good driving record, and meet state-required automobile insurance minimums
- May be required to drive club van for field trips and special events.
- Program planning development and implementation experience.
- Ability to establish and cultivate positive relationships with youth.
- Assume other duties as assigned.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Maintains close, daily contact with Club professional staff to interpret and explain organizational mission, program objectives and standards, discuss issues, and provide/receive information. Maintains contact with Branch Boards as needed. Has regular contact with members as needed to discipline, advise, and counsel.
External: Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, members' parents and others to assist in resolving problems and to publicize Club.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of child development, supervision, and staff management in a licensed childcare setting.
- Ability to supervise volunteers and staff, and maintain a safe and developmentally appropriate environment.
