What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Teacher position at Boyne Falls Public School?
Key Responsibilities and Skills:
· Develop, implement, and regularly revise Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to students’ unique needs and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
· Administer and interpret special education screening tools and assessments, using data to set appropriate goals and make informed instructional decisions.
· Maintain thorough knowledge of current laws, regulations, and legal ramifications pertaining to special education.
· Design and deliver instructional programs and lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and ensure student progress toward learning objectives.
· Employ diverse instructional methods, activities, technology, and engaging materials to motivate students and enhance learning outcomes.
· Stay current with evolving instructional methodologies, evidence-based practices, and educational technology to improve teaching effectiveness.
· Establish and maintain effective classroom management strategies that promote a positive, inclusive learning environment.
· Foster open communication with parents and guardians, providing timely updates and information about student progress and needs.
· Regularly assess and monitor student performance and progress to ensure mastery of targeted skills and goals.
· Collaborate effectively with ISD staff, school personnel, students, and families to support student success and maintain cohesive educational plans.
Education:
· Bachelor's degree in K-12 special education required.
· Certification or relevant license as required by the State of Michigan
Pay: $47,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
