Duties
- Assist with planting, watering, fertilizing, and harvesting crops using hand tools, power tools, and farm machinery.
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts and other farm machinery safely and efficiently.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, including welding and basic mechanical troubleshooting.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Conduct regular inspections of farm infrastructure, and machinery.
- Follow safety procedures diligently during heavy lifting, equipment operation, welding, and maintenance tasks.
Qualifications
- Prior supervising or team-leading experience in an agricultural or farm setting is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair or maintenance.
- Ability to operate forklifts, heavy machinery, power tools and hand tools, safely.
- Strong understanding of farming principles.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to planting or feeding schedules.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and perform outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Knowledge of safety standards related to welding, heavy equipment operation, and general farm maintenance.
