Boyer Children's Clinic is currently seeking a Full-Time Intake Specialist - Medical. Boyer provides medical, therapy, special education, and family services to infants and young children with developmental delays and disabilities, and their families. For more information, visit www.boyercc.org.

The Intake Specialist - Medical guides families of medically fragile children through the Early Support for Infant and Toddlers (ESIT) intake process. This role combines clinical nursing expertise with care coordination, program enrollment, and community collaboration. The position also serves as a medical resource to staff and supports special projects within the Intake Department.

The ideal candidate is clinically skilled, calm in acute situations, highly organized, and passionate about family-centered, coordinated care.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Intake & Care Coordination:
    • Coordinate with the Referral Coordinator on new ESIT referrals for medically fragile children.
    • Complete the intake process, including reviewing medical and developmental history.
    • Identify qualifying medical diagnoses and potential vision, hearing, or other health concerns.
    • Administer developmental assessments alongside an intake provider (therapist or educator) to determine ESIT eligibility.
    • Review enrollment paperwork with families and process documentation for enrollment or discharge.
    • Collaborate with Family Resource Coordinators and internal departments to determine next steps for services.
    • Coordinate with community medical providers involved in a child’s care.
  • Medical Support:
    • Provide medical care as needed for acute issues (e.g., injury, seizures, sudden illness).
    • Assess health needs such as nutrition, dental, vision, and hearing.
    • Coordinate care with hospitals, clinics, and specialty providers.
    • Attend outside clinics, hospitals, or conferences related to children entering programs.
    • Serve as a medical resource for assigned caseload and agency staff.
  • Medicaid & Community Support:
    • Support families through the Medicaid eligibility and application process.
    • Provide care coordination, interagency collaboration, and administrative support related to Medicaid programs.
    • Participate in community outreach and liaison activities with professional groups and agencies serving children with disabling conditions.

Compensation

  • $65,102 - $94,484 annually, depending on experience.

Work Environment, Physical Demands & Travel Requirements

The work environment for this position is a typical office environment. The physical demands for this position requires the employee to use computers and sit/stand in an office environment. Travel requirements include the ability to transport oneself between offices as necessary, on a daily basis. Must possess a valid Washington State Drivers’ license and automobile insurance if driving a vehicle.

Salary : $65,102 - $94,484
