Duties
- Operate CNC milling machines, lathes, and grinders to produce complex parts according to detailed blueprints and specifications
- Program CNC machines using G-code, M-code, Fanuc controls, and CAM software such as SolidWorks, CAD, or Mazatrol to optimize machining processes
- Set up machines by installing tooling, fixtures, and measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs)
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to determine machining requirements and tolerances
- Perform precision measurements during production using measurement tools to ensure parts meet quality standards
- Conduct machine maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustments to maintain optimal performance
- Follow lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall productivity
Requirements
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC mills, lathes, or CNC milling machines with Fanuc or similar controls
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming including G-code, M-code, and CNC G-code programming techniques
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software like SolidWorks, CAD programs, or Mazatrol for machine setup and programming
- Ability to read mechanical blueprints and interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) for precise machining
- Mechanical aptitude with understanding of machining tools, tooling setups, manual machining techniques, and measurement instruments such as micrometers and bore gauges
- Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus
- Basic math skills for calculations related to measurements and tolerances in manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of plastics injection molding or metal machining is advantageous
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
