The CNC Machinist Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining various CNC machines, primarily lathes and milling machines, within a small team environment. This role focuses on machine setup, precision machining, and ensuring production quality while adhering to safety standards and documentation requirements. The operator will not be programming machines initially, but can grow into a programming role with company provided training. The main tasks will be to ensure smooth operation and perform maintenance as needed during standard working hours.
Responsibilities
- Set up CNC machines including lathes and milling machines
- Operate CNC machines to produce precision parts
- Replace tools and perform routine machine maintenance as required
- Troubleshoot operational issues to minimize downtime
- Handle materials efficiently and document production data accurately
- Incorporate the 5S methodology as they work
- Adhere to safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment
- Collaborate effectively within a small team of 2-5 members
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years experience in CNC machining
- Proficient in CNC machine operation, specifically lathes and milling machines
