Position Summary
This is a full-time, in-office position. The Property Management Accountant is responsible for preparing, completing, and reviewing financial reports related to property operations. This role includes cash management, financial reporting, reconciliations, and collaboration with property managers to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain financial statements for multiple properties
- Reconcile bank accounts, operating accounts, and escrow/trust accounts
- Record and review journal entries
- Monitor banking activity and cash management for multiple properties
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports for property owners
- Assist with annual budgets and forecasts
- Track and reconcile rent rolls and security deposits
- Work closely with property managers to resolve financial discrepancies
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and company policies
- Support audits and respond to financial inquiries
Qualifications
Required:
- Associates or College Degree
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field and/or accounting experience a plus
- Experience with residential property accounting a plus
- Proficiency in Excel and Office Suite programs
- Experience with accounting software and advanced Excel skills a plus
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
