Maintenance Worker

Boyd’s Parts & Supplies LLC is looking for a dependable field apprentice / general maintenance helper to work on a variety of small jobs throughout the Hampton Roads area and surrounding locations.

This is a hands-on position for someone who is dependable, willing to learn, and comfortable doing a variety of different types of work. The position may include general maintenance, small repairs, installs, landscaping, painting, drywall, flooring, material pickup, and other jobsite tasks as needed.

While this is not strictly an electrical position, the right person may have the opportunity to be trained as an electrical apprentice under a Master Electrician if they are interested and show the right attitude, reliability, and work ethic. Some jobs will be performed with supervision, while other jobs may require working independently once trained and given clear direction.

Typical work may include:

• Spreading mulch and basic landscaping
• Installing water fountains and fixtures
• Flooring work
• Drywall repairs
• Painting
• Light demolition and cleanup
• Material pickup and jobsite support
• Assisting with electrical work under supervision
• General handyman and facility maintenance tasks
• Other small jobs as needed

• Must have reliable transportation
• Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
• Must be able to access government and military installations when required
• Must be able to pass any required background check or site access screening

Experience:

Prior construction, maintenance, landscaping, painting, flooring, drywall, or electrical helper experience is a plus, but I am willing to train the right person. This is a good opportunity for someone who wants to learn multiple trades.

Pay:

$20.00 – $24.00 per hour, depending on experience, reliability, and ability to work independently.

Schedule:

Part-time to full-time hours depending on workload. Schedule may vary based on job requirements.

Work location:

Multiple jobsites. Employee must have reliable transportation and be able to report to different locations as needed.
