About the Program
Join us for a 12-week, hands-on internship experience where you’ll gain real-world exposure to the construction industry while contributing to meaningful projects with Boyd Jones Construction. Our interns are not here to “just observe." They collaborate with experienced professionals, sharpen their skills, and leave with tangible accomplishments to add to their resume.

Key Responsibilities
As an Estimating Intern, your assignments may include:
- Reviewing construction documents, drawings, and specifications to identify scope of work
- Assisting with quantity take-offs and material pricing for commercial construction projects
- Supporting the preparation of detailed cost estimates and bid packages
- Participating in pre-bid meetings, site walks, and post-bid analysis
- Distributing bid invitations and tracking subcontractor bid coverage by trade
- Assisting with addenda review and updating estimates for design changes
- Preparing bid tab summaries or leveling sheets comparing subcontractor pricing
- Assisting with bid day logistics (compiling sub numbers, bid tabulation sheets)
- Learning and assisting with estimating software
- Shadowing handoff meetings between preconstruction and operations teams
What You’ll Bring
- Current enrollment in an accredited program in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or a related field
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Strong analytical, math, and problem-solving skills
- Clear written and verbal communication abilities
- Self-motivated and eager to learn
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
