What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elevate Gear-Up Success Coach - Grant Position position at Boyd County Middle School?
Appointment: Success Coach shall be appointed annually; this is a grant position and will only be available as long as the grant is funded.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of 60 college credit hours, with a background in education, social work, psychology, or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with youth, particularly in educational, mentoring, or counseling roles.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and school staff.
- Knowledge of academic support strategies, social-emotional learning, and college/career readiness programs.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and use data to drive student success and program improvements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, maintaining a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
- Willingness to engage in ongoing training and development to further enhance skills and knowledge
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Shall have the ability to sit, stoop, possibly lift up to 50 pounds or more, any and all body movements as related to the job description.
JOB GOAL: The ELEVATE GEAR UP Success Coach will play a pivotal role in supporting the academic, social-emotional, and college/career readiness development of middle and high school students within Boyd County. Beginning with the 6th and 7th-grade cohort in the 2025-2026 school year, the Success Coach will provide guidance and mentorship throughout the students’ academic journey, continuing through their first year of post-secondary education. The Success Coach will support students in navigating academic challenges, building resilience, and preparing for post-secondary success, all while fostering strong relationships with families and community partners. All activities must be coordinated with administration to assure compliant with district policies and objectives. This position requires a passionate, dedicated individual with at least 60 college credit hours and experience working with youth, especially in rural, educational settings.
