BOXX Technologies Production department is looking for a Production Technician located in Austin, TX. BOXX offers Benefits (Medical, Dental and Vision plans), 401-K Matching, and Paid Time Off.

Responsibilities include conducting preliminary testing of systems and potentially repairing the systems, loading and customizing software based on customer requirements, and conducting the final test and repair if needed, by validating systems integrity and diagnosing any problems. Flash motherboard BIOS and complete BIOS settings for all Production orders. Start all systems in run-in after assembly has been completed and removes them from run-in after successful completion.

Position Summary:

Education/Training:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Technical/Professional experience

Experience:

  • Experience in component level repair of computers
  • Experience loading and configuring operating systems

Technical Knowledge:

  • A certification required
  • Linux certification desired
  • Linux knowledge required
  • Strong working knowledge of deployment technologies

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to apply concepts of basic addition, subtraction, division and multiplication
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures
  • Ability to write emails to managers, and co-workers
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal wit a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Place assembled systems into run-in and start the run-in testing process
  • Perform functional testing using applications like PassMark, RealBench, Prime95, OCCT and other testing software
  • Load and configure operating systems
  • Load drivers and software
  • Flash BIOS and firmware on motherboards
  • Troubleshoots any run-in failures, repairs systems and retests them
  • Maintain inventory integrity when replacing defective components by following process
  • Troubleshoots and repair systems from production test failures
  • Maintain correct firmware levels
  • Have the ability to assemble components like CPU, GPU, Memory and Heat sinks on motherboards for orders or re-works.
  • Generate quality documentation as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
