Position Overview:
BoxBee Logistics is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Freight Operations Specialist to support the coordination and day-to-day management of freight transportation operations. This position will work closely with customers, carriers, brokers, and internal operations teams to ensure shipments are scheduled, tracked, documented, and delivered efficiently and on time.
The Freight Operations Specialist will play an important role in coordinating transportation from booking through final delivery, maintaining accurate shipment records, monitoring carrier performance, and resolving operational issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate freight shipments from initial booking through final delivery.
- Communicate with carriers, customers, terminals, and other transportation partners.
- Arrange pickup and delivery schedules and confirm shipment details.
- Monitor shipment status and provide timely updates to customers.
- Track vehicles and freight using transportation management and GPS tracking systems.
- Verify carrier availability, capacity, rates, and scheduling requirements.
- Review bills of lading, shipment records, delivery confirmations, and other transportation documentation.
- Coordinate LTL, vehicle, heavy equipment, and specialized freight movements.
- Assist with drayage and intermodal shipments involving ports, terminals, rail yards, and local delivery points.
- Identify delays, scheduling conflicts, capacity issues, and other operational problems and coordinate appropriate solutions.
- Maintain accurate shipment information in internal systems and databases.
- Support carrier selection and coordination in accordance with company procedures.
- Communicate shipment requirements, access restrictions, appointments, and special handling instructions.
- Follow up on pickups and deliveries to ensure service commitments are met.
- Assist with freight claims, exceptions, and delivery-related issues when necessary.
- Ensure transportation documentation is complete and properly maintained.
- Coordinate with customs and documentation teams on international shipments when required.
- Maintain professional relationships with customers and transportation providers.
- Follow applicable company policies, safety requirements, and transportation regulations.
Qualifications:
- 1 year of experience in freight, logistics, transportation, dispatch, brokerage, or a related field preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience working with transportation management systems, GPS tracking platforms, or logistics software is a plus.
- Familiarity with carrier operations, freight documentation, LTL transportation, or vehicle shipping is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and customer-service skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
Pay: $26.00 - $31.30 per hour
