Movers wanted in Athens — $20/hr, work this weekend
We move UGA students in and out of apartments, dorms and storage. August is our busiest stretch of the year and we need more hands on the truck — starting with Sunday August 9 and Friday August 14, which are UGA move-in days.
$20 an hour. Most moving jobs around Athens pay $15–17, so this is above what you will find elsewhere in town.
About us
Box Dawgs is a local moving and storage company based in Athens. We are small, we work fast, and we treat the crew well — you will be working directly with the owner, not a call center three states away. Most jobs are 2 to 5 hours: load a truck, drive across town, unload, done.
What the work actually is
- Loading and unloading furniture, boxes, mattresses and appliances
- Carrying items up and down stairs — apartments, dorms, houses
- Wrapping and padding furniture so it does not get damaged
- Riding along in the truck between stops
- Being straight with customers and careful with their things
What you need
- To lift and carry heavy items repeatedly, including stairs
- Your own transportation to job sites around Athens
- To show up on time — that is the whole job, honestly
- A phone (scheduling and clock-in run through an app)
What you do NOT need
- Experience. We train you on day one.
- A degree, a resume, or a moving background.
- To be a student. Anyone is welcome , this suits people who work nights and are free during the day.
Pay and hours
- $20.00/hr
- Weekend and weekday work available. Take the shifts that fit your schedule.
- Steady work through August move-in, with ongoing shifts after for anyone who works out.
