Position Overview
This is a hands-on field role for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and understands that details matter.
You will support projects from early demo and site prep through final punch list and completion. This role requires strong carpentry fundamentals, the ability to work across multiple phases of construction, and an awareness of design intent.
We work closely with our in-house design team, so the goal is not just to complete tasks, but to execute work cleanly and in alignment with the overall vision of the project.
Key Responsibilities
Project Support (All Phases):
- Assist with job site setup, protection, and organization
- Perform clean and efficient demolition
- Support framing and layout as needed
- Install blocking and backing for fixtures and finishes
Finish Carpentry & Install:
- Install baseboards, casing, and light trim with clean, consistent results
- Hang and adjust interior and exterior doors
- Assist with installation of windows as needed
- Install hardware (handles, bath accessories, etc.)
- Assist with cabinet install support (layout prep, blocking, adjustments)
Punch List & Final Phase Execution:
- Complete punch list items efficiently with strong attention to detail
- Perform minor drywall patching and prep
- Caulking and prep for paint
- Light paint touch-ups as needed
Design-Aware Execution:
- Execute work in alignment with plans and design intent
- Maintain clean lines, consistent reveals, and high-quality finish standards
- Collaborate with designers and project managers to ensure details are carried through properly
- Identify and communicate issues that may impact the final result
Qualifications
- 3 years experience in residential construction or carpentry
- Ability to read and interpret plans, blueprints, and layouts
- Strong understanding of job site workflow from demo through finish
- Experience performing finish work with attention to detail
- Comfortable working across multiple phases of a project
- Reliable, accountable, and team-oriented
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Finish carpentry (trim, doors, hardware installation)
- Flooring installation (LVP, laminate, or similar)
- Interior and exterior door and window installation
- Basic drywall patching and light paint work
- Small stucco patching or exterior repair experience
- Working knowledge of plumbing and electrical (fixtures, minor adjustments)
- Experience working on design-build or detail-oriented residential projects
We do not expect candidates to be experts in every area listed above. We are open to a highly qualified candidate with strong core carpentry skills, a solid understanding of construction, and a willingness to learn and grow within our team.
Compensation
- $32 – $35 per hour, depending on experience
- Opportunity for performance-based increases after 60 days
