Position Summary:
Gain hands-on clinical experience assisting licensed Physical and Occupational Therapists in patient care, treatment preparation, modality application (hot/cold packs, ultrasound), and functional exercise support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care Support: Assist in preparing patients for treatment, including dressing/undressing, transferring, and applying supportive devices (braces/slings).
- Clinical Assistance: Safeguard, motivate, and assist patients with exercises under PT/OT supervision. Perform routine treatments such as hydrotherapy, paraffin baths, and hot/cold packs.
- Departmental Support: Maintain clean/organized equipment, transport patients, and assist with fitness center orientations.
- Clerical Duties: Manage patient scheduling, input charges for inpatient/outpatient/swing bed services, and assist with chart documentation.
Qualifications:
- Education: Currently enrolled in a PTA, PT, OT, or COTA program; and High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Age: 19 years or older.
- Skills: Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
This position provides valuable exposure to various treatment areas, including inpatient, outpatient, and nursing home settings, under the mentorship of seasoned rehabilitation professionals.
