Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring high-quality presentation and taste
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new dishes and improvements based on customer feedback and seasonal ingredients
- Handle food prep tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients efficiently and safely
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including knives, stoves, ovens, and other culinary tools with precision
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality standards
- Serve dishes promptly to ensure timely delivery to guests or dining staff, maintaining a lively pace during busy hours
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant settings; dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of food handling safety protocols
- Familiarity with menu planning, meal preparation, and food industry best practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper sanitation procedures
- Previous kitchen or culinary experience in restaurants or catering environments preferred
