The Bowling Green Veterinary Clinic is looking to hire a full-time veterinary technician with experience. The clinic is a fast paced 4 doctor practice. This position is Monday-Friday, with rotating weekends, and rotating on-call. We are looking for someone that is a self-starter, has attention to detail, and a team player.
As a Veterinary Technician, you will be integral to providing high-quality care for animals in a clinical setting. Reporting to the Veterinarian, your core responsibilities will include animal handling, catheterization, and assisting with various medical procedures. With your expertise in veterinary terminology and animal physiology, you will ensure the well-being of pets and support their owners.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate care to animals, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and maintain accurate medical records.
- Administer medications and vaccinations as prescribed.
- Handle and restrain animals safely during treatments and procedures.
- Educate pet owners on proper care and treatment options.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the clinic and kennel areas.
Qualifications
- Veterinary technician experience
- Proficient in animal handling and restraint techniques
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal anatomy
- Experience with animal catheterization and pet care
- Familiarity with animal husbandry
- Background in laboratory procedures and veterinary critical care
