Dental Assistant

We are looking to add a top-notch dental assistant to our TEAM! The ideal dental assistant should be well-organized with great attention to detail and possess exceptional written/verbal communication skills. Chair side assisting experience is required to be considered for employment. We want you to be skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care and able to make office procedures as smooth as possible. We are looking for a self-starter who is able to multitask. This person needs to be eager to learn and ready to lend a hand where needed. Candidate MUST BE certified in coronal polishing and X-rays. Responsibilities

• Welcome customers in the dental office
• Prepare customers for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort
• Select and set up instruments, equipment, and material needed
• Sterilize instruments according to regulations
• Chair-side assisting
• Undertake lab tasks as instructed
• Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
• Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
• Schedule appointments
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures

Skills

• Proven experience as dental assistant 2 years experience required
• Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
• Understanding of health & safety regulations
• Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing. Certification for coronal polishing is required.
• Good computer skills
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Attention to detail
• Well-organized and reliable
• High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is required.
• Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g. EFDA)
• CPR for healthcare providers required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour
