The Wood County Educational Service Center is seeking a qualified and dedicated Educational Interpreter for the Hearing-Impaired to join our team. Key Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
1. Valid State of Ohio Interpreter for the Hearing-Impaired License.
2. Clear criminal record documentation.
3. Compliance with drug-free workplace policies and Board regulations.
4. Proficient in spoken English and strong voice skills to accurately reflect expression.
5. Proficient in communication skills, including American Sign Language (ASL), Pidgin Signed English (PSE), and/or Signed Exact English (SEE).
6. Skilled in the use of alternative forms of communication (e.g., gestures, mime).
7. Open to employing a total communication approach.
8. Self-directed, congenial disposition with strong interpersonal skills.
9. Good health, high moral character, and a reliable attendance record.
10. A sincere desire to aid all students in their education and communication needs.
