Bowles Rice is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized legal secretary to join our robust tax team. Specifically, this position will prepare, format and proofread estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney and healthcare proxies; assist with trust funding and asset transfers; support probate and estate administration, including drafting court filings and maintaining deadlines; manage client intake, communication and scheduling meetings; maintain and organize client files; coordinate document execution, including notarization and witnessing; track key dates and deadlines related to filings, tax returns and distributions; liaise with financial institutions, courts and third-party advisors; assist with billing, time entry and basic administrative tasks.
The successful candidate will have direct experience in supporting attorneys and paralegals in all aspects of estate planning, trust administration and probate matters; strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously; professional communication skills and a high level of client service orientation; and the ability to work independently while contributing as part of a collaborative team. Must be able to complete all required background screening, including criminal.
