Duties
- Safely operate forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment to load and unload shipments with precision.
- Manage order picking using various equipment such as
pickers to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently. - Assist in warehouse management tasks including inventory control, stock organization, and maintaining accurate records within the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Conduct routine equipment repairs or report maintenance needs to ensure all machinery operates safely and effectively.
- Support shipping & receiving operations by verifying inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring proper documentation, and adhering to OSHA safety standards.
- Handle materials with care during movement and storage to prevent damage or safety hazards.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow, improve safety protocols, and uphold quality standards in warehouse distribution.
Skills
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, Hi-Lo lift trucks, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory tracking and order processing.
- Mechanical aptitude with basic repair skills for equipment maintenance.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations related to materials handling and heavy equipment operation.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts, measurements, and load weights.
- Excellent attention to detail for order picking accuracy and shipment verification.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors in a fast-paced environment.
