Overview
Bowhead seeks a Senior Aerospace/Mechanical Engineer in their support to the Navy's Weapons Systems Munitions Integration and Hypersonics division.
Responsibilities
Support the planning, establishment, deployment, and operational readiness of a new CPS test facility.
Transition the LBTS from an unconfigured space into a fully operational hardware and software testing environment.
Support planning and coordination activities, identify facility and infrastructure needs, assist with test environment preparation, and coordinate technical activities required to achieve operational readiness.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and technical background in science, engineering, information technology, or related discipline.
6 years of professional technical experience with 4 years of specialized experience.
Ability to support planning, coordination, and execution of technical activities.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to track tasks, milestones, dependencies, and action items.
Ability to collaborate with engineering, technical, facilities, and other support personnel.
Ability to document progress, identify issues, and communicate project status.
Experience supporting technical projects, laboratory operations, engineering activities, or facility setup.
Ability to coordinate multiple activities and support project execution in a structured environment.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project priorities.
Ability to support the transition of technical requirements into actionable implementation plans.
Desired Qualifications
Experience with high-speed aerospace structures and finite element modeling is required, with experience Sandia National Lab's Sierra tool suite.
Experience developing or maintaining project schedules and tracking milestones.
Experience with hardware deployment, installation, configuration, or integration.
Experience with computer networking and laboratory infrastructure.
Experience establishing hardware and software test environments.
Experience with operational readiness planning, test facility stand-up, or technical site activation.
Familiarity with coordinating facility, infrastructure, equipment, and technical personnel requirements.
Physical Demands:
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance. May begin work with an Interim Secret clearance or higher. ship is a requirement for Top Secret clearance at this location. Applicants with an In-Scope DoW Secret or Top Secret are preferred.
Targeted salary range is $140,000 to $150,000 annually based on qualifications and experience.
