Position Overview
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for a variety of clients, processing day-to-day accounting transactions, reconciling accounts, and assisting with payroll and financial reporting. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys working with both numbers and people.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online (experience with other accounting software is a plus)
- Understanding of bookkeeping principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Experience with bank reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Payroll processing experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and client service skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines while working independently and as part of a team
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records for multiple clients using accounting software
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
- Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts
- Assist with payroll processing and payroll tax reporting
- Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets and profit & loss reports
- Communicate with clients regarding bookkeeping questions and required documentation
- Assist with budgeting, account analysis, and other accounting projects as needed
- Support tax preparation by ensuring financial records are accurate and complete
- Maintain strict client confidentiality and comply with firm policies and professional standards
