What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Service Representative position at Bowen Health?
- Will consist of a late shift ending at 7p. This is rotated between staff. Bilingual preferred, but not required*
office.
Hours of operation are 5am-1pm.
Duties/Responsibilities
Below are the primary duties and essential functions of an employee in this position. While not all tasks may be performed by every employee in this role, all employees are expected to perform related tasks as needed. These essential functions must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Greeting, educating, and instructing patients through admission and check-in process.
- Verify patient information and check-in for scheduled appointments.
- Notify patients of insurance benefits and financial responsibilities.
- Answer telephone and direct calls appropriately.
- Schedule patient appointments.
- Manage clinical schedules and assist clinical staff as needed.
- Monitor account balances, payment plans, and collection reports.
- Crosstrain with county patient services staff and help cover county offices when requested.
- Perform cash handling responsibilities and daily reconciliation of cash drawer.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Occupational Exposure Risk Classification: The normal work routine involves minimal exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues.
- The normal work routine has a minimal ergonomic risk for repetitive motion impairment.
- The position may require a minimal amount of physical exertion (bending, lifting, twisting) in the work area.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Minimum of one (1) year experience in an office setting; Experience in Healthcare Customer Service preferred.
- Certificate or Professional License: No Certificates or Professional License required.
- Valid driver’s license and active auto insurance coverage.
- Satisfactory results from criminal and driving record background checks.
