The NP/PA Intern is an observation-only trainee role designed for Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant students to gain exposure to a healthcare setting through supervised observation. The intern shadows licensed providers to observe patient-centered care, clinical workflows, and professional interactions without participating in direct patient care. This position emphasizes learning, collaboration, and understanding evidence-based practice within the scope of academic program requirements and organizational policies.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrates commitment to and practices in line with Bowen Health’s core values of respect, integrity, mission and stewardship.
- In good academic standing with program approval for internship/rotation.
- NP/PA Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and professionalism.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Occupational Exposure Risk Classification: The normal work routine involves minimal exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues.
- The normal work routine has a minimal ergonomic risk for repetitive motion impairment.
- The position may require a minimal amount of physical exertion (bending, lifting, twisting) in the work area.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Currently enrolled in an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
- Successful completion of on-site orientation and signing of the required confidentiality agreement.
