Duties
Assist dentists during general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry procedures with precision and care. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning. Take and develop X-rays while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow efficiency. Monitor vital signs and medical imaging results to support comprehensive patient assessments. Manage medical records and documentation accurately within electronic health record (EHR). Support infection control protocols through aseptic techniques and knowledge of anatomy to prevent cross-contamination. Assist with administrative tasks including dental receptionist duties, scheduling appointments, and updating medical coding in compliance with healthcare standards. Ensure all dental assisting activities are performed following established dental terminology and safety guidelines.
Requirements
Previous experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred. Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and anatomy knowledge to support safe clinical procedures. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards to protect patient confidentiality. Familiarity with X-ray procedures, medical imaging technology and vital signs monitoring is desirable. Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist or in customer service roles within healthcare settings. Ability to perform chairside assisting confidently while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure.
