Responsibilities
- Assist in reading and interpreting construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to support project execution.
- Perform manual handling tasks such as lifting, carrying, and positioning materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Operate power tools and construction equipment while adhering to safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
- Implement erosion control measures to protect sites from environmental impact and ensure compliance with environmental standards.
- Conduct erosion control activities including installing silt fences, sediment basins, and other preventative measures.
- Support the installation of structural components by climbing ladders or scaffolding safely while following OSHA safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized worksite by removing debris, securing tools, and ensuring all safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Assist with equipment repair or troubleshooting minor mechanical issues on-site to minimize downtime.
- Follow all workplace safety regulations including respiratory protection protocols, heavy lifting procedures, and the implementation of OSHA standards.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure project timelines are met while maintaining a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience in industrial or commercial construction environments with a strong understanding of construction workplace safety regulations.
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans accurately.
- Mechanical knowledge related to construction tools, equipment repair, and power tools operation.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting, climbing, manual handling tasks, and working at heights on scaffolding or ladders.
- Knowledge of erosion control techniques and environmental protection practices on construction sites.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and implementation of safety regulations such as respiratory protection requirements.
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail in interpreting technical drawings and executing tasks precisely.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to follow instructions carefully while maintaining a proactive approach to safety.
