What are the responsibilities and job description for the Long Term Substitute- Integrated Preschool Teacher position at Boutwell?
We are seeking a long-term substitute preschool teacher to work at the Boutwell Early Childhood Center servicing students with and without disabilities from November 3, 2025 - April 10, 2026. The long-term substitute preschool teacher will be responsible for the promotion of equity and appreciation of diversity to ensure equitable opportunities for student learning, implement specific strategies for students with special needs, 504 plans and/or language learners. In addition, the long-term preschool teacher will be responsible for the following::
•Demonstrates a strong knowledge of curriculum and instruction, assessment, and classroom/behavior management
•Plan effective lesson plans aligned with current state and district standards utilizing instructional strategies for adapting or modifying general curriculum to meet the various needs, interests, and abilities of all students
•Establish and maintain a safe, organized classroom, which is conducive to learning and interests of the students
•Use available technology/instructional media to enhance the students' learning experiences
•Observe and evaluate students' performance and when necessary, seek the assistance of district specialists as required when learning difficulties arise
•Collect, assess and document student progress data on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required
•Conduct assessments/evaluations of student abilities and needs and serve as a member of IEP meetings
•Collect and analyze student performance data to develop appropriate IEP goal and objectives and determine the extent to which student IEP goals and objectives are being met
•Assist students with both academic and social/emotional goals as stated in student IEP's and/or state standards
•Support school wide behavior expectations
•Establish and maintain cooperative relationships and open lines of communication with students, colleagues, and families
•Instruct and direct assigned educational assistant(s) to maximize delivery of instructional services, behavior management and data collection techniques
•Act as a liaison between home and school
•Maintain integrity of confidential information regarding students
•Attend staff, data, professional development/CIT, team meetings, and other meetings as required
•Other duties as assigned by the principal or designee.
