Position Title: Senior Employment Litigation Associate

Salary Range: $215,000 / Year, DOE

An established national labor and employment law firm is seeking a Senior Employment Litigation Associate to join its Portland office. This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced litigator to take meaningful ownership of employment matters, including developing case strategy, drafting pleadings and motions, managing discovery, handling depositions, participating in mediations and preparing cases for trial.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned employment litigator who can independently drive matters forward, exercise sound legal judgment and confidently manage sophisticated cases while collaborating with partners and clients.

Responsibilities

• Develop litigation strategy and advise clients on risk, exposure and potential resolution
• Draft and respond to complaints, pleadings, motions and other substantive legal filings
• Manage written discovery and complex case-related documentation
• Take and defend depositions
• Research, draft and argue substantive motions
• Participate in mediations and other dispute resolution proceedings
• Prepare employment litigation matters for trial
• Manage cases and deadlines while maintaining strong communication with clients and internal legal teams
• Collaborate with partners and attorneys across the firm on sophisticated employment disputes
  
  

Requirements

• 7 years of litigation experience with a strong employment litigation background
• Experience independently managing employment litigation matters and developing case strategy
• Strong experience drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery
• Demonstrated deposition and motion practice experience
• Experience preparing matters for mediation and trial
• Experience handling class and collective actions strongly preferred
• Excellent academic credentials with strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple sophisticated matters in a fast-paced environment
• Self-starter who can work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team
• Active admission to the Oregon State Bar
