This hands-on role will manage client relationships, budgets, schedules, field coordination, change orders, vendor negotiations, and overall project performance while ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and profitably. Responsibilities
- Manage the full scope of electrical construction projects ranging from several hundred thousand dollars to $40 million
- Oversee project budgets, costs, schedules, quality standards, and financial performance
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, general contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Develop strong working relationships with field personnel and visit local project sites several times per week
- Coordinate labor, materials, purchasing, subcontractors, and project resources
- Partner with the purchasing manager to negotiate orders with vendors and subcontractors
- Review project risks, change requests, billing requirements, and contract deliverables
- Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure deadlines do not fall through the cracks
- Manage multiple active projects and competing priorities without sacrificing accuracy
- Support projects across healthcare, higher education, light industrial, and automotive environments
- Resolve project challenges quickly through clear communication, sound judgment, and hands-on leadership
- 5–8 years of project management experience in electrical construction
- Experience working for an electrical contractor
- Strong budgeting, cost-control, and project scheduling experience
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects and demanding workloads
- Willingness to work onsite five days per week in Dexter or Southfield, Michigan
- Ability to travel to project sites within approximately 60 miles several times per week
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Excel pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
- Annual discretionary bonus averaging 5%–10%, based on individual and company performance
