Overview
Boutique Dance Academy is seeking a reliable, engaging, and growth-minded Dance Instructor to join our recreational program. This role is ideal for someone who values structured, educational dance training and enjoys working with younger dancers in a positive, organized environment.
As a Level 1 Instructor, you will focus on building strong foundational skills, classroom structure, and a positive student experience while contributing to a consistent, high-quality program.
Responsibilities
- Lead 30–60 minute classes for dancers ages 2–12 (with opportunities to grow into older age groups)
- Teach age-appropriate technique in styles such as hip-hop, ballet, jazz, or lyrical classes
- Maintain structured, organized, and engaging class environments
- Provide clear, constructive feedback to support student progress
- Follow studio curriculum and class guidelines to ensure consistency across programs
- Collaborate with the studio manager on scheduling, curriculum alignment, and student development
- Assist with studio performances, including our Winter Snowcase and Spring Recital
- Substitute for other instructors as needed
Qualifications
- Prior dance training required (formal training preferred)
- Experience working with children ages 2–12 strongly preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Ability to create a positive and structured learning environment
- Availability for evening classes (minimum availability preferred: weekdays between 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM)
- Willingness to grow within the studio and take on additional classes over time
Compensation
- Hourly rate: $20.00 – $35.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
